What is biohacking?

Biohacking is a relatively new term that basically refers to many different ways to be the absolutely best versions of ourselves. One of the great entrepreneurs pushing this movement (known as transhumanism) along is Dave Asprey, founder of the company "Bulletproof". He claims to have spent two decades and over $1 million to hack his own biology. He goes as far as to state he has raised his IQ by 20 points and has lowered his biological age. He is a best selling author of The Bulletproof Diet and has brought performance enhancement into a new paradigm to live by.

The Transhumanist movement believes that we may eventually be able to transform ourselves into beings with abilities so expanded from our current state, that it represents a new stage of evolution, posthuman. This of course is closely associated with the concept of technological singularity and the predictions of Ray Kurzweil in regards to the exponential growth of artificial intelligence and the merging of man and machine.

Transhumanists are interested in technologies such as nanotechnology, biotechnology, simulated/virtual reality, augmented reality, artificial intelligence, 3D bioprinting and mind-uploading. Neurotechnology in every form is of vital importance.
